PETA Goes Amityville Horror

Not yet, but PETA is close to owning the famous house in Long Island that is on the market for $1.5 million US, after being the subject of several films and novels. Why, you may ask, is PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, interested in owning a house of horrors? Simple, to create a meat industry themed house of horrors, revolving around the true horrors of the process of making meat. Rather than a typical exhibit, with pleasant music playing in the background, the exhibit will feature the roaring sounds of whizzing blades, and the occasional blood curdling scream of an animal being slaughtered. If you have ever wondered what a pig in captavity feels like, then you have the oppurtunity to step inside the metal cages a pig would stay in, which are horribly tiny. Animatronic hens and fish will also be seen in the exhibit, which would be suffering, of course, due to limited space and fishing boats. Weapons/instruments for the industry can also be touched by guests, including a third degree inflicting cow prod, used to shove cows towards slaughter houses. If this doesn't sound child friendly, do not fret, the guests will receive a doll with good ol' Ronald McDonald, as usual, wielding a knife and covered in blood, as he is the face of "McCruelty". I have opinions, to say the least, on the matter, but here is the link.

I wanted my last blog to come back to the importance of the treatment of animals, but after this story, I think it is also important to shed light on the insanity of extremist groups. I support PETA, have joined their newsletter, signed petitions, helped campaign for their causes with friends, but this is just nuts. It is a peverse farce of a musuem, which will teach people absolutely nothing, because going about things in a terrorist like manner will only make people think less of your ideals. I have told numerous people that pig captavity cages are so small that sows crush half of their baby piglets in captavity, because one slight roll will suffucate them, as their isn't enough space. PETA can use their words, and the horrors of animal abuse will come out, but they don't need to make a circus freakshow out of a famous landmark to make a point. Anyway, here is the link for PETA. Middle School Sex Parties Get Out Of Control

"Little Girl" parties. It sounds innocent enough, but the LG party is what has parents across British Columbia fretting for their youngings, at the thought of teenage boys using social networking sites like Facebook to invite middle school girls over for a sex party. The party, involving lots of liquor, has caused two warnings by police to be sent out, in an attempt to keep the virtue of these young girls. The first time had police discovering Grade 11 boys having a contest to see how many Grade 8 girls they could get in bed with before the night's end, and warnings sent out to schools and parents alike. Constable Tracy Wolbeck of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police says that "The intent of these parties and the group mentality that goes along with them is what makes them very frightening for parents and police alike". "Yeah parties that include lots of little girls, hence the term LG, little girls -- you can find them anywhere" said an adolescent in BC, who casually discusses the nature of these rowdy get togethers. Anita Roberts, a counsellor on the matter, has a more calm approach to the matter, but sees the problem at hand. "Older boys seducing younger girls, that's not new. It's been around as long as I've been on the planet," she said. "It's the strategic predatory nature of this: actually planning it. How many notches on the belt; how many girls can I sleep with before I graduate -- 'sleep with' is not the right term. It is sexual assault". Police are warning parents to check your children's contact lists, and not to let them go to parties that do not have parental supervision, or without first having knowledge on the dangers of drinking, especially because these parties are "mostly just drugs, sex and alcohol and then a lot of partying until they just drop", as stated by a high school girl in BC. This just confirms for me that teenagers are getting way out of control in this day and age. Honestly, there is no hormone in teenage boys that would drive them to want to basically commit statutory rape against girls that are not in a state of mind to consent, especially not to drive them to plan a party to do so. And these girls know what are at these parties, but since they are too young to make decisions this serious, they need a parent to step in and help them. I just can't believe that a parent would let their son invite tons of underage girls over to intoxicate and then assault. This is a more liberal generation, but through my experience of blogging, I've found their carefree attitude leads them to making ridiculous decisions about serious matters. It is insane.

Sarah Ferguson Scandalous Video Leaks

If you haven't heard this story already, which would be quite surprising, Duchess Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson is now the topic of a lot of controversy, after an incriminating video clip leaked earlier this week, taken by a sneaky reporter. The video depicts the famous woman accepting $40,000 in cash from a News of the World undercover reporter, with the promise of $360,000 more, in order to gain a political and royal advantage through her husband. Many journalists are now taking different sides after evidence supports both arguments. A lot of journalists believe that Fergie may have had a little too much red wine that evening, and that the video footage is not that incriminating. Others believe that what the journalist was is called entrapment, where to convict someone of a crime, a position is taken where the the purportator is actively sought out, and tricked into revealing the truth. Some others are taking her side wholly, because the scandal had her coming out to say that her financial issues had brought her to such a financial situation that she took the money out of desperation. Most people, however, believe that Sarah Ferguson has let down the United Kingdom, and shamed the Royal Family, even though some peple argue that her decision doesn't reflect her husband's interests. Now, Sarah Ferguson is thinking of retreating to the United States to avoid the harsh glare of the British tabloids. We will soon see if she will follow through, and go into hiding, or try to not listen to the controversy, and continue her role as a British icon. I personally believe that she just had too much red wine to drink, a snooping journalists came to her doorstep, and she was manipulated out of financial desperation into saying things she did not mean. I do think she has made a big mistake in this, but I really do not think she should hide from the world when she was heavily manipulated by the Britsh Press and blurted out things that were put in her mouth.

Torontonian Woman Sues Rogers After Lover is Revealed

Gabriella Nagy was in a passionate and loving relationship for the last few weeks before an event occured that led to her sueing Rogers Wireless, and unfortunately, this relationship wasn't the wth her husband, with whom she had two children under 8 years old. Gabriella had a personal cell phone account with Rogers in 2007, which was under her maiden name, and sent to her as an individual bill. Her husband, who's name is not being revealed out of obvious embarassment, opened up the cable and television bill, which was always in his name, to find Rogers had made their bills a "global bill", packaging the envelope as "Ms. Nagy and Mr. ____". This is where he found her cell phone had made several phone calls to a number he had never seen before, some of which that lasted hours. After calling the number, the recipient of the call revealed his affair with Gabriella, and Gabriella's husband immediately left her, without a single word to why he had left. When she was left with her two young children, a month later, she received an invoice from Rogers, stating that the couple's matrinomy made them one individual account. A few months later, October 2007, the stress of her marriage falling apart and being a new single mother caused her work performance to go down, and she lost her job as an apartment rental agent. Now, the woman is suing Rogers, stating that "it was a mistake, and she didn't deserve to lose her life over it", and her lawyer states that "the plaintiff’s maiden name and the husband's surname were different. Such unilateral action by the defendant was done without the knowledge, information, belief, acquiescence or approval of the plaintiff". We will soon see if the $600,000 law suit goes anywhere, and if young Gabriela Nagy's life will finally see some redemption, after her extramarital affair ruined it.

I would say that she made a mistake, but that Rogers' amateurish mistake and clear mistep of boundaries was the only reason for her marriage ending. I do think it is stretching the truth a bit to say they are the reason for her losing her job, but I would like to see her lawyer's argument for this, as a single mother and apartment agent are two jobs that are hard to do at once, especially amidst a divorce. Rogers is now saying that they "cannot be held responsible for the condition of the marriage, for the plaintiff's affair and consequential marriage break-up, nor the effects the break-up has had on her". Uncertified Teacher Beats Student on Cellphone Camera Expose

Sheri Davis was a teacher at Jamie's House Charter School in Texas, when, during a test, the children, all under the age of 14, decided to have some fun, and play some music and dance around. One student, a thirteen year old boy, started laughing at the situation, and in response, a few female classmates told him if he didn't stop laughing, they'd hit him. Rather than back down, he continued to have fun, laugh, and said "hit me", when his teacher walked in. As a professional in the field of education, she thought it appropriate to teach him a lesson, but not with textbooks and chalkboards, but with a good old fashioned beating. She tossed him on the floor, dragged him around, and repeatedly punched his face in, with slaps and kicks thrown in between. The school is a school designed for the students with special disciplinary needs, but the teacher herself did not even have a certificate to prove she had a right to be a teacher. Unfortunately, in Texas, unless you are teaching at a special education school (which disciplinary does not fall under), you do not need a diploma to be a teacher. Equally horrifying, the fellow students in the room proceeded to laugh and cheer on the teacer during the brutal beating. Because modern day youth is so technological transfixed, the event was taped on a cellphone, later posted to Youtube, the home of other famous teacher bloopers. Luckily, the boy, Isaiah Johnson, went home and told his mother what happened, with emotional bruising, a black eye and severe bruising to show for it. As soon as the school saw the video online, the teacher was fired promptly, and charges may or may not be pressed. I hope this woman will never teach again, or be in a job near children again, as she abused her authority and used it to beat a helpless child because of her own psychological issues. Conservative Party Pulls Gay Pride Funding

In the heart of Toronto, one of the most famous annual events in Canada took place last year, the Gay Pride Parade, which has obtained fame nationwide for being a quite liberal and free spirited celebration of individual rights and sexuality. The Minister of Tourism, Diane Ablonczy, presented a $397,500 cheque to the event's organizers last year, and after pictures appeared online, a large number of compliants came from rural town in Canada, appauled that the Conservative Party of Canada would fund this event. Now, it is 2010, and Diane Ablonczy has had her authority taken away, and Industry Minister Tony Clement has now made it clear the the Gay Pride Parade will receive a whopping zero dollars. His reasoning, however, is that “this is a two-year stimulus program. In year one of this program, almost 75 per cent of the funding went to events in Canada's largest cities. In year two, we wanted to ensure that the money was spread out to some of the smaller cities so they were able to benefit as well. So Montreal got two. They got the Jazz Festival and Juste pour Rire. Toronto got two, Luminato and the Royal Fair. Edmonton got two. Vancouver got two. Winnipeg got two. There's only so much money to go around". The Liberal Party does not see it like this, and they think Canadians won't either. “Canadians see this for what it is, blatant discrimination and political pandering among the Conservative right-wing base.” The Liberals are also rightly questioning why, of all the festivals, Gay Pride should be cut. “Pride leaves a $100 million economic footprint, creates 650 jobs and generates $18 million in tax revenue. Why does ideology trump economics in this Conservative government?”. Hopefully the parade, being a famous and wildly enjoyed event within the LGBT community in Toronto and all across Canada, will still be able to run the same and bring a similar message about being open, and crushing homophobia within Toronto and abroad. Albertan Man and Two Daughters Die in Car Accident

It was a typical Tuesday morning, Alana Baxter was at home and her husband had driven the kids to school. But the day took a sour turn when she received a call from the kids' school, Winterburn, telling her that the kids never made it to school. Just a few minutes away from home, Alana found that her husband, John Baxter, 42, and two kids, Julianne, 9, and Coral Sky, 7, had been killed instanty when a VIA passenger train crashed head on into their car where the tracks intersect the road. John's brother, James, told the press it was very unusual this would happen, as John had driven the same road thousands of times, and this kind of accident was "one of those senseless things you can't explain". John had also just recovered from brain surgery two weeks ago, after a bad sinus infection spread to his brain. Karyn Hick is the only known witness of the accident, saying that she too had been driving on the road, but conditions had been so poor she was driving 10 kilomeres an hour, and that the wind blown snow must have caused the accident. Regardless of circumstance, this was a tragic freak accident, and I give the family my sincerest condolensces.

I am imaging that the recovery time of brain surgery would not be as rapid as he chose to drive, and that John may have been on pain killers at the time. It is, I would say, a likely possibility that this, combined with the terrible weather and bad safety bars, is the reason why the accident occured. If this was true, though, I don't believe he would be accountable, as if the weather had been better, this accident would more than likely not have happened. Record Breaking Number of Schools to Close

Due to economic problems within the government, after the controversial closing of many public pools, Toronto School Board is faced with the challenge of having to close a whopping nine public schools this year, which has never before happened. These schools, of all the ones across Canada, are more than likely facing the axe because of lack of usage, even though one school, Kent Senior Public, once had the larget student body in Ontario. Strangely enough, the school board's decision to close these schools is not a government decision, but that of people, who felt funding for half empty schools was appauling. Parents in ten different neighbourhoods conclude that there are 110 half empty schools around Ontario, and that list has been lowered to 55 schools that could be abolished. Most schools that are closing are Junior Highs, so any schools that end at Grade 6 will now be forced to accomodate grades 7 and 8, or face being shut down. Hopefully this issue sorts itself out, and that too many students don't face issues if their school shuts down.

I would say that it is important to use government spending properly, but considering we have fundeed many other projects of equal or less importance, I think this is a little bit odd. Students in impoverished areas, like the poorest area in Scarborough and their school, Pringdale Gardens, are going to face major issues if their school closes. I really hope the government knows what they are doing, because money right now doesn't mean anything if the people of the future cannot receive a proper education. Dresden Resident Finds Skeleton in Dormant Well

An average man in Dresden, Ontario was having a fairly normal day, working on renovating the porch of the house he planned to move into, until he found a well, with wooden planks nailed to the top of it. After taking the barricade down, he found the skeleton of a man lying at the bottom of the well. The talk of the town is that our deceased friend happens to be Clint Brown of the famous "Dresden Mystery". Clint was a young man, living in a trailer alone, when in the early 1960's, he suddenly disappeared. Being a very popular man in town, people found it odd that one day, he went to a doctor's appointment, and that happened to be the last time he was ever seen. The folklore also tells that he was shoved down a well, funnily enough, but the wells around his home came up with no skeletons. After extensive searching, involving helicopters and search crews, he was never found, but the information obtained may have some assistnce to the current investigation going on. So far, a forensic anthropologist has identified the remains as being human, but cannot yet specify age, time of death, or the cause of death to the victim. I hope this case will have an end so that the people of the town can rest easily.

I think that is a horrible conincedence that a skeleton was found in a well, but I also think that this is probably just a tight knit town starting gossip over nothing. We don't even know the age of the victim, so it is sheer conjecture that this is the mystery being solved. Also, the house had been rented out previously, so it is very suspicious that nobody ever found a body in a well before, which would more than likely suggest the body hasn't been there long, or that the skeleton was moved there. I also hope that the town will not turn this into a big, gossipy fan fare.

Teacher Cleared of Sexual Assault Charges

25 year old Hannah McIntyre was just a trainee teacher when three young men accused her of having sexually assaulted one of the guys in the group after they came to her house and got drunk with her. However, Hannah had a totally different story to tell the judge when she went to trial just this week. While the boys said they got drunk on cider at her house, the sixteen year olds actually barged into her house already drunk, asking to let them in. "I asked them to leave," Hannah told the court. "I said they shouldn't be here and told them to be on their way.
I wanted to be non-confrontational because I didn't want to provoke a reaction. But they just took no notice." The entire game of dares absolutely never happened, but cider was bought by Hannah, in hopes that when she gave them the bottle, they would just leave, but no such luck. She finally gave up, and retired to the bedroom to avoid the gang, as "By this point I was very anxious and bed seemed to be the best hiding place." The steamy sex that they supposedly had was actually the drunk man coming upstairs, poking her and making obnoxious sex noises, before passing out drunk on the floor, which was followed with her having a panic attack in regards to having these maniacs her house. While some articles say otherwise, she clearly states she "would like to see the boy prosecuted", as she used to work at Merchant Crosby, a good private school, but is now "inexpressively angry" that her life and career are in tatters after the accusation.

This is an absolutely horrifying story, and I am quite glad that I had in some ways expected this to be completely ficticious. Of course, his motive was to deflect from his bad behaviour by blaming it on someone else. I think he should definitely be prosecuted, and that this kind of behaviour is disgusting and an embarassment to the legal system. The fact these allegations were completely fraudelent, obviously, as she has already been cleared of her charge, and they were still able to get her to lose her job and reputation is horrifying. I feel very sorry for this woman, and I desperately hope that he gets what he deserves, but more so that she gets her life back. To see the article, click here.

Teacher Plays Drunken Love Game with Student and Loses

It began as a fairly normal night for a 16 year old boy and his friends, where they were just having fun as usual, until things became unexpectedly steamy with all the wrong people. The gang of hooligans from Merchant Taylor Boys' school in Britain decided to go to Hannah McIntyre's house, the twenty five year old trainee teacher at their school. She let them in, and they went on to ask questions about the personal lives of her fellow co-workers, until she gave each of them two litres of Strongbow cider, which they drank until they were drunk enough to dare the young lady to kiss the boy on the lips, something she declined, until compromising to have the two friends kiss each other and then she would kiss the underage Casanova. The boys were too drunk to find their way home, so being the woman with the heart of gold she is, she let two of the boys stay in the living room. The other? In her bedroom! Just when you think the two might have ended the raciness at the kiss, she whipped off her pyjama bottoms, only to have the couple consumate their relaionship. The incident, a total mistake, did not even include pillow talk, but quickly followed with the infamous walk of shame, where this time, the four of them conspired to not tell a soul, and the one night only pair did not talk for a long time after. Now, he is an 18 year old undergraduate, and a year after that night, his mother finally demanded to know what happened, and he told her about the incident. Hannah McIntyre is denying the allegations of sexual activity with a child and a person of trust, but we will soon see who is telling the truth.

There are two parts of this story that I have strong opinions about. First, there have been several occurances where students accused teachers of sexual abuse to get back at them, and the year long gap between the night and his mother finding out is quite unusual. It would be quite repulsive to lie about something like this, and damaging to her career, so hopefully (well, not hopefully) he is not lying. Secondly, this woman, if guilty of this crime, should never teach again, and this is clearly taking advantage of someone by means of alcohol and authority. The part about him being a child, though, is total garbage, as if he had not been drunk, he could have fought back and not had sex with her. So, the situation is very strange, but the truth will be unveiled soon enough. This story also is similar to our story about the lap dancing teachers, as it proves that these people need to learn to keep their acts together and gain some boundaries.

It's been proven now that the students lied, as you can read here, which is what I had been weary of, and I feel that this woman has suffered a severe injustice through this accusation, so I apologize for ever commenting on a story so ironious and factless. More so, I apologize for writing in an accusatory manner, which may have been how the press depicted the story themselves, but a non biase interpretation would have been more fair.

Lap Dancing Teachers Suspended.

One of the biggest viral videos and hottest stories all began on a teenage girl's cell phone, when she chose to video tape the steamy sex simulation two teachers embarked on during a school assembly. A few weeks ago, I spoke on this topic, and now, the Churchill teachers' verdict has been decided. Trustee Mike Babinsky told the pres the mother of the Human Resources director died just days before the incident, which might explain why two weeks after suspension with pay, the teachers were brought in on seperate days and told they would be suspended indefinitely and without pay. While the male teacher has a contract, the female teacher is signed on yearly, so it is expected once the school year ends, she will not be asked to return to the staff. To clarify, a rumor started that the teachers suffered no punishment at all, because of the school's "no videophone or recording device" policy, which made the video insubstantial evidence and complete void of meaning. However, this is not at all the case, and the teachers are definitely being punished. To read about the original article, click here.

My opinion on this topic hasn't changed one bit, and I think it is a real shame these foolish teachers were suspended without pay. While a the board was not comfortable with this behaviour, students and parents were absolutely fine with it, or at least acknowledged it as a mere lapse in judgement. The girl who taped the incident regrets posting the steamy footage on the web to begin with, and her father agrees with her stand. I hope, though, that the way the school dealt with their punishment won't endanger future employment, just because they wil hopefully gain some wisdom with age, and learn that oral sex simulations in a high school gym are not the best way to make your employer happy.

Disabled Woman Loses Life Due to House Fire

On Tuesday morning, in Strathona Park, the Rumpel family faced a horrific tragedy when fire struck their home, engulfing the property in flames. While Thomas Rumpel, a geologist, escaped the fire with serious injuries with his 20 year old son, who was in stable condition at the hospital, 58 year old Brenda Jeanne Rumpel lost her life in the fire. Due to a handicap, Brenda was confined to a wheelchair, a disability that her loving family had taken many steps to make easier, such as installing elevators, ramps, and renovating the kitchen, and up until that day, she hadn't taken a serious loss due to the impairment. But, sadly, the amount of smoke from the fire stopped her from being able to evacuate, taking $700,000 worth of damage on the home and her life, the only thing still standing being the garage, filled with cars the father-son pair worked on together. Brenda was described by many neighbours as being a wonderful person, so I offer my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of this woman. Boxing Day Shooting Trial Has a Surprising End

On Boxing Day 2005, a 15 year old girl by the name of Jane Creba was window shopping, when her life came to a sudden end due to the recklessness of Louis Raphael Woodcock, age 23, and Tyshaun Barnett, age 22. The infamous murder took place when a young man exited a Foot Locker, carrying a .357 calibre Magnum revolver, and confronted a group of 10 men, a group that Louis and Tyshaun were a part of. The two defendants were in possession of a 9 milimetre handgun and .25 calibre semi automatic handgun when they were at the same Foot Locker. The young girl in question was shot dead by accident, but her life was taken nonetheless during a reckless shooting that could have been avoided, leading to a murder trial, where the two thugs were being charged with second degree murder. Today, the case has finally come to an end, and the verdict is that the two men are not guilty of second degree murder, but of manslaughter.

This is an extremely tragic story that this girl lost her life do to the carelessness of others, and even more so that these two men are not being punished to the full extent of the law. To clarify, first degree murder is a crime that is carried out in a manner that was planned, and commited with the exact intent of killing the victim. Second degree murder, which is what the defendents were charged with, is murder without the specific intention or preparation. The defendents were found guilty of manslaughter, which would mean that the defendents did not wish to murder the victim. I personally believe this is saying that the life they took couldn't have been avoided, and that the mistake they made is barely related to the death of this girl, and this couldn't be more wrong. I do think it is good that they are at least getting some form of punishment, and that this case can be put to rest so that the family can move on.

Jordan Manners Case Reaches Mistrial

Quite a few weeks ago, I posted about the murder of Jordan Manners, a 15 year old in the GTA, who was shot dead in the school hallway by two miscreants who remain anonymous due to their age. Now, last Friday, the trial of the murder of Jordan Manners has come to a close, and due to a disagreement in the jury, the conclusion was a mistrial. This decision was made after 4 days in deliberation didn't change that a unanimous decision hadn't been reached yet. Quite suspiciously, Ian Nordheimer, the judge, is believed to having placed blame for this on two teenage witnesses, for not providing sufficient testimonies; while sharing the theory with the court, the jury was not informed about this information. Had the jury been told this, rather than believing there was not enough evidence at all, they would know that information had been poorly told by the two witnesses. As is to be expected, the family of the deceased ordan Manners has requested a retrial, so justice may be found.

The trial of Jordan Manners has reached quite a significant bump in the road, but I still stand by my belief that these two teenagers should be persecuted of this crime. Giorgio Mammolti, known for his proposal of a teenage curfew, is a Toronto mayoral candidate who now suggests that convicted gang members should remain on a database, with constantly added information in order to track them. I believe this is too strong, and people will disagree. This is helpful, but not a solution, as we will only be preventing the second crime, but the murder of Jordan Manners would not have necessarily been prevented by this idea. Overall, I think this problem needs a solution, but rather than mistrials and strict politicians, there should be a real solution brought forward.

Singaporean Fake Doctor Arrested

Balaji Varatharaju is a 29 year old medical student, who just finished his degree at Adalaide University; too bad his finishing didn't mean graduation. Being a determined man, he decided to still apply for his internship to Alice Springs Hospital in Australia back in March, and continued to work as an intern from then until just on February 24th. Unfortunately for the man, his trail of deceipt wasn't detected out of means of jealousy, but senior employees watching his performance, and being singularly unimpressed. Luckily the man was not a surgical intern, but unluckily, he had treated over 400 patients since his stay there. The six year degree from Adaliade that had been gotten out of 2 years there, dropping out, and forgery, was actually such a good replica that even the Medical Board of Northern Australia thought it was legitimate; the Australian Justice of the Peace's signature was even on the document! Now, after being thrown in the pen with no chance of bail, he is at risk of being charged of physical assault, because since he is not an actual doctor, his examinations of patients were not official, and abusive of the patients under law. Very soon we will probably here the fate of our fake doctor.

This man is quite ridiculous, actually, to apply for an internship with a forged document, stupidity that is probably the reason for dropping out of university and also for being caught as a fake. I would say that the general consensus is he should be thrown in jail for a long time, and I agree, because someone could have been hurt by him, directly, or indirectly; misdiagnosis, for example, is something that he easily could have committed to one of the patients. Teacher Lap Dance During Assembly Sparks Controversy.

While S.A.C pep rallies have seen a lot of rowdiness, nothing compares to the racy footage caught on tape by Saigha Vincent, a Grade 9 student, at Churchill Highschool. The steamy clip involves the standard school gymnasium, then just add a laughing female teacher in a chair, and a male coworker simulating intercourse on top of her, in the middle of the gym. This formula creates the perfect viral video, becoming watched across the globe on social networks like Myspace and Facebook, and gathering hits rapidly on Youtube. The school, needless to say, found the video, oral sex simulation and all, and have now released a statement that the teachers have been sent home, with pay, while the school board decides what to do with them. The Winnipeg Teacher's Association president, Dave Najduch, thinks that their punishment could "range from nothing to job loss, and everything in between". Sooner than later, the promiscuous pair are bound to have their fate decided, with the world continuing to laugh at their poor situation.

I would like to state that these teachers are incredibly stupid for thinking this was funny or appropriate to do at an assembly, and that if they lost their jobs, they shouldn't complain, because it is pretty basic logic that teachers shouldn't be grinding up against other teachers in the gym. That being said, parents actually think the teachers don't deserve to lose their jobs, and that they think the video going viral was punishment enough. The videographer's father stated quite plainly "It's common. There's dancing stuff going on all the time, on dancing shows and that. I don't think it's that big a deal". One teenager's mother is being cited as saying, on her way to pick up her son from school, "We all make mistakes, You have to beware in this digital world, right? It's too bad. I think they were just trying to have fun, and try to be like the kids are today." And that they were, but school trustee, Mike Babinsky, thinks that this could go either way depending on the general consensus by human resources, parents, students, and other staff. Hopefully they won't lose their jobs, as I think something that silly isn't worth losing your job over, and not to be crass, but it's nothing the teens haven't seen before. Police Caution Torontonians! Dog Killer on the Loose!

For Karen Lloyd and her dog, it was a normal day in the Allan Gardens park; fresh grass, a cold chill, and her dog, going to the toilet. Being responsible, she crouched down to pik up her dog's deposit, only to find at least 50 crushed pills scattered around the entire park. Today, police are investigating the death of a dog in it's own backyard, surronded by the same crushed pills. Going through the rest of the neighbourhood, several backyards had their own deposit of the crushed pills that Karen and the deceased dog has encountered. The kind of medication is currently unknown, but the meaning of the pills isn't; some believe the pills are not a definitive cause of death, but all are sure that there is a dog murderer on the loose. Police are guessing that the motive would be the barking and noise from the dogs in the Sixth Street/Lake Shore West Area, where the killer lives. This is actually not the first time someone has gone homicidal on man's best friend, as in High Park in 2008, two dogs died and many got very sick, after digesting intentionally planted bread that had been heavily soaked in antifreeze. Hopefully, before another victim is found, we can discover what kind of medication it was, and if it was prescription, track it to the killer.

As a dog owner, I was pretty horrified that anybody would want to kill a dog, and a little scared for my pets (irrationally, though, I don't live near the Newer Toronto Area). I definitely think that the perpertrator is totally insane to go and murder dogs for the sole purpose of their own silence. I would suggest people look after their dogs with caution for the next while, and maybe bring their dog on a leash to your frontl awn for the next few weeks. Twitter menacing in more ways than one.

Put yourself in the shoes of a 26 year old man, planning to fly from Doncaster to Dublin, to get away from the bad weather in his home county. Then, a week before you are going to fly, you hear word that the same bad weather that has you wanting to leave the country might prevent the flight he so anticipated. If you are anything like me, you would feel annoyance, and not be pleased with the airport; but if you are anything like Paul Chambers, you would go to popular social network site Twitter to express your frustration. "Robin Hood airport is closed. You've got a week and a bit to get your s**t together, otherwise I'm blowing the airport sky high!" he typed on his iPhone, out of anger towards the airport, but not containing an ounce of will to actually commit a terrorist act against the organization. One public complaint and a week later, he is brought into a 7 hour interrogation, thrown in jail, and the iPhone is confiscated. Now, he is out on bail, and on the day I am writing this is being brought to court for "sending by a public communications network a message that was grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character contrary to Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003". Soon enough, we will find out the fate of this unlikely terrorist of the web.

Most blogs I have written so far, I have strongly spoken against brutes, vandals, and unsympathetic people. This, however, is a huge exception. While it was quite stupid to write this message on Twitter, the fact that his justice system is actually taking this as an actual threat is beyond strange. In an age of techology, it is very easy to write a sarcastic comment in the moment, and hit send, but as officials, they should be able to distinguish real threats from angry customers. Would an actual terrorist post that on Twitter if they planned on bombing the airport? Unlikely, so charges and a 7 hour interrogation are way overboard. It is nice to see that these people are entusiastic enough to stop potential threats, but it makes no sense that we would waste our time with disgruntled Tweeters, when the real threats are still getting on flights. Victims of Unprovoked Racist Attacks Find Justice

Just three years ago, on a typical Friday, a group of six anglers at Lake Simcoe had their day turn sour when him and his friends brutishly pushed two fishermen into the lake they were fishing in. The shock is, that the perpertrator, Trevor Middleton, did not even know the victims. The motive was out of hatred towards Asian-Canadians, which was taken out on Ruohang Liu, who is only 24, and his friend. Back in 2007, he was found guilty for his crime, but also of two counts of criminal neglegence, by the jury. The two additional charges were because in the middle of the courtroom, the 23 year old thug threw an armrest of a chair through a window. The foolish man also started a quarrel within his group of intoxicated friends and nearby fishermen, who got so out of hand, that it ended with the beating of one man, and a car chase and accident that left Middleton's crony with permanent brain damage. The one controversy in this case that has everyone talking is that missing in this list of committed crimes, hate crime. His punishment, though, will be enough to stop him doing this again, as he will have two years in jail, three on probation, 10 years of a suspended license, and a mandatory DNA sample.

I personally am disgusted that someone who commit a crime this rough against anybody, especially because of the colour of their skin. These men were minding ther own business, and were clearly wronged by this moron's want to satisfy his thirst for violance. "Where is the Human Rights Commission now? What's their part now" was said by the mother of the young man thrown into a coma by the car chase's bad turn, and everyone is asking this. To be honest, I am not feeling too much sympathy for Middleton or his band of geniuses, but think they all deserve a long time in the pen, so that nobody ever will feel a discrimatory like this again, and watch their attacker get away with it.

Toronto Mayor Candidate's Girlfriend Speaks Out

As you may have heard by now, Adam Giambrone, a member of Toronto's city council, dropped out of the mayoral race due to a shocking sex scandal, where he cheated on his live-in girlfriend with a woman 12 years younger than him. Being the youngest city council member ever, at 32, his mistress, a 20 year old university student, read in a newspaper, as a result of an error, that her lover was married. This article lead her to coming clean about their fling. Their whirlwind affair began when Kristen Lucas was just 19, but hit a rough patch when she found out she was not his only partner, and that Adam would tell the press his steady girlfriend would be the one in the papers as his partner; as you can guess, this was horribly embarassing for Kristen. The straw that broke the camel's back was when Sarah McQuarrie, the "official girlfriend" was overheard by Kristen's stepmother as saying that Kristen was crazy, based on a few derogatory Facebook messages. So Kristen came to the press, and told them about their relationship, which was met with Adam claiming they had an "inappropriate" relationship, but that it wasn't sexual, even though she has said they had sex several times in his office. When Adam came clean about her, he also admitted to affairs with other women outsid Kristen and Sarah. Now, Kristen's family is worried about her wellbeing, while Adam has dropped out of his race to be mayor.

After reading this article, I have quite a strong perception, which would be the only one at fault here is Adam Giambrone. Kristen Lucas was not "the mistress" in her own eyes, as she thought she was the only one. People also forget the big age difference, which leads to their being a person in the relationship with too much power, which isn't fair or healthy. I do have to wonder, though, what kind of person this Sarah McQuarrie is, as from what I've read, she sounds quite wretched, if you ask me. Overall, I think this is less about one mistress, and more so about a promiscuous man who is now being punished for cheating on his girlfriend, and more importantly, setting a bad example as an influential member of the community. Fighting for Lucy's Freedom

Lucy is a 34 year old female in a confined area in Edmonton, and is also an Asian Elephant. PETA, or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, well known for their controversial and effective campaigns ("I Would Rather Go Naked Then Wear Fur" Campaign, or their recent mime seal clubbing around Vancouver), is getting ready to sue the city of Edmonton for the way the Valley Zoo is treating her. The zoo, run by the city's government, is kept in an area all by herself, that is cold enough to give her severe arthritis, so small she's become obese, and have concrete floors so vile to plague her feet of serious infection. Poor Lucy is also suffering of an undignosed respiratory problem, which is very likely related to her treatment. Clayton Ruby, Torontonian, raises the question that keeping Lucy at all is also an improper way to spend the city's funds, when they are already scarcely making their snow removal costs. This case will go to court on March the first, and we will see if Lucy gets her salvation afterwards.

By looking at the rest of my blog, you can tell that as a vegetarian and animal lover, I am disgraced by the maltreatment of animals, especially foreign or endangered ones. This is such a horrific example of a shady zoo, treating animals like money making machines, and not giving them actual care. Also, Asian Elephants are considerd an endangered species, with an average of 46, 877 of them left in the world. As a nation we consider to be civilized, it is our right and duty to treat animals like true inhabitants of this earth, and the fact that we are putting so little importance on the wellfare of these fantastic animals is disturbing. If they don't want to care for them, they should not have them in posession to begin with. With the treatment Lucy is getting, there is absolutey no reason for her to still be in this prison. To conclude, Lucy and any other animal who is treated a fraction as badly as her deserve to be brought somewhere else, where they can be actually happy, because the way she is treated now is certainly not the what is right. I would say you should look at this beautiful animal, and realize it's your duty as a citizen of the world to at least spread the word and tell your friends and family that this injustice is happening. Fifteen Year Old's Murder Trial Begins

Two twenty year old men are just about to be tried for the horrible crime they commit as seventeen year old boys, the murder of fifteen year old Jordan Manners. The homicide occured in the middle of the hallway at C.W Jeffrey's Collegiate, where the two culprits got away without identification, after shooting the boy several times. Due to the age of the culprits at the time of the crime, they will remain anonymous, but within four days, one guilty man was found during an investigation, and the second turned himself in, shortly after his accomplice was caught. Toronto District School Board has now released an 1000 page report following this, which will be followed by taking serious action against all sorts of sexual harassment and violence that go unreported, which happens far too often in these schools. More resources and a phone hotline are ideas of things that should be provided for the predicted 250,000 kids who go to these schools in fear. His funeral recalled the boy as being a fun loving and honest young man, and his memory will now help to clean up the bad situations in these schools.

I definitlely think this is a horrific crime, and that these two culprits should be trialed as aduts, as a seventeen year old should most certainly know that murdering people in the middle of a school hallway isn't the best idea. I do think, though, that these environments are very hard on young men, who need stimulation through means of creative or active extracurricular activities, rather than find their fun in gang culture. The school board is not going about fixing this the right way, as troubled men are not likely to call a hotline, but to take a support disguised as a fun activity. I really think that the other problem is that these young men were able to get into school carrying two handguns, and that the security in these rougher areas should be stricter. But as you saw in my previous entry, random acts of violence and vandalism can occur at absolutely any school. Overall, I offer my sincere condolences to the young man whose life was taken away far too early.

The Deadly Mission

Volunteer firefighters are brave men around the globe, helping service their community by under going training and doing what they can to assist their communities. However, for Gary Kendell, he will not be able to help others any more, for a dark twist in a standard mock rescue lead to te death of the 51 year old man. His work was situated in the Ontario town of Port Edward, a small community of less than 2000 citizens, and the fire department is made up of a fire prevention officer, a fire chief, and almost 30 volunteer fire fighters. While he will be dearly missed by his wife and three kids, the fire departments of both Sarnia and Point Edward has received quite the shock in his death, one that may give future volunteers the want to be cautious. Sarnia Fire Chief, Pat Cayen, was quoted to say "It's a wake up call that it's your neighbour, it's your brother right next door, and you know, I think it wakes everybody". The death occured during a mock water rescue at Waterfront Park, where the now deceased was trapped underneath a sheet of ice, and died of injuries by the time his fellow comrades had gotten him to the hospital.

I would first like to offer my condolenses, as this is a tragic story, and this poor man had given a lot to his community, and to have to die and leave behind a family and community so early is very sad. I think the fire department shouldn't treat it so nonchalantly, though, because while it may be a "wake up call", it is also a tragedy, and should be treated delicately, not as something to teach the new recruits. Also, I question the fire departments decision making to initiate a water rescue on a frozen lake, where a real victim would no doubtly not survive either, and create unnecessary risk for these firemen. It is a very hard job in real life, but replicating a scenario that could end in death as a mock is just taking the point of a real mission out, but keeping the possibility of injury or fatalities. School Vandal Goes Too Far

At three in the morning, the principle of Robert Little Public School got a call from local police, telling him that his school had just been vandalized. After receiving the news, he rushed to his school, to find that the library computers had been demolished, along with finding smashed windows and flipped tables around the entire school. One room had been subject to the vandal's usage of a fire exstinguisher to coat the entire room in the chemically unsafe foam, ruining books and other supplies; this was one of 19 classrooms, and one of 11 that were vandalized. Most cruel was when the intruder smashed the school fish tanks, murdering 10 plus innocent fish in cold blood. They did eventually trigger the alarm system, causing a security guard to succesfully stop the two 19 year old criminals, Christopher Wilkinson and Robert Tressel from Acton, from their near escape. The two boys are now to be trialed for animal abuse, breaking and entering, and mischeif. The school board has called off school until further notice, and parents are now volunteering to help clean up this mess.

This event was clearly horrific, but also somewhat avoidable. Considering the school has 400+ students from Kindergarden to Grade 5, if the security system is so lacking that they were able to do that level of damage before being caught, there is truly an issue. The school should be fosterng knowledge and creativity in youths, but also keeping them safe from harm, which they are not equipped to do. However, these boys are clearly quite disturbed, and deserve to be chewed up and spit out by the justice system for destroying tens of thousands of dollars of school property. No question about it, the security system needs to be upgraded, but those hooligans shouldn't get away with anything less than the full extent of the law for their clearly nonsensical crime. Two Endangered Masai Giraffes Die of Maltreatment at B.C Instution

At the Mountain View Conservation and Breeding Center, situated in British Columbia, a necrospy and further investigation found that the poor treatment of their animals was detrimental enough to end the lives of two young giraffes. The first death was of a four year old giraffe has been attributed to the extreme cold and poor heating in the facility, but that is not all that lead to it's death. Since a giraffe is a very huge animal, malnutrition would be something hard to diagnose, but after taking sample post mortum, Bruce Burton, a veterinarian at the center, came to the conclusion that the food given was not suitable to giraffes. The giraffe's exact cause of death was peracute mortality syndrome, which means that the giraffe's lack of body fat lead to a sudden death. The organization fed the giraffes pellets, stuffed with grains and leaves, but due to the nature of serving, the giraffes would pick out the leaves and only eat the grain. The death of these two endangered Masai Giraffes is most certainly tragic.

In my opinion, this organization is most certainly at fault for these deaths. According to reports, these barns were described as totally barren and not appropriate for a giraffe. This particular facility has also been looked into for inhumane euthanization, and the results are not yet disclosed, which says an awful lot for me. As a place that specializes in the treatment of endangered animals, they are responsible for knowing the appropriate diet, inhabitants, and treatment of these animals, so this is either a place of clear neglect or pure ignorance; either way, an endangered species is not going to do to well. I definitely think that these giraffes should be sent to an instution that actually cares for these animals.
